My Journey
Movement expression has been a part of my entire life, and I've enjoyed coaching others for nearly 30 years. I started teaching group exercise before I finished high school and went on to earn a B.S. in Kinesiology (Sports Medicine). I spent 20-years working as a fitness manager for a few private clubs, and traveled as a Trainer, Presenter, and Assessor for Les Mills. I've trained people in person and online for over 20-years. I have a background in weight training, Olympic lifting, Pilates, CrossFit, Barre, and much more. My life's passion has been to create an experience that helps others fall in love with fitness; finding the balance of enjoyment, challenge, and inclusivity. Through this journey, I realized that each person is like a unique gem; we are all crafted differently. We move, think, live, and process in our own ways. Across the board, I noticed patterns of stress that kept people from reaching their goals and even observed my own body aging unkindly (too many intense workouts back then). My interests shifted from "fitness" to "wellness." I understood that stressing the body on top of stressing the mind doesn't equate to a positive outcome. In 2024, I completed a 250-hour yoga certification, but that was only the beginning. I'm now somatic healing certified, a meditation specialist, and I am working on a trauma-informed yoga certification and sound healing therapy. Fascinated by quantum physics, I took a course in quantum healing. I've also studied life coaching, chakras, Ayurvedic coaching, nutrition, and CBT.
Blend all of these together, and what do you get? Someone who has learned to heal themselves and is ready to help others do the same! My methodology emphasizes the use of intention to guide progression and improve mind-body coordination and control. Learning how to breathe properly is often overlooked, but so important in life. Proper breath when lifting heavy, when controlling movement, when wanting to feel, wanting to let go, or wanting to recover. Workouts are much more than movement; it's a celebration of what we can do and experience. Create a mindful connection to the body and watch it thrive!
